Our first full day of vacation we went to Islands of Adventure! It’s one of our favorite Orlando parks. First we went on Hulk and Spiderman and then we went to Hogsmeade!
The first thing we always do is ride Forbidden Journey. We love that ride. My favorite part is the Quidditch ride through the stadium, it’s so realistic. But the whole ride is excellent. Some day I want to find out how Universal makes their rides seem like you’re inside a 3D movie.

I tried the single rider line and it went really fast, but I think I’d rather wait in line and ride with my family if given a choice. Of course the gift shop when you exit the ride is full of all kinds of good stuff. I bought a Gryffindor shirt for myself and my son really loved the Hogwarts House steins.

We tried to figure out if the steins were machine washable but the staff didn’t know, and we didn’t get one. So after coming home I looked at the Slytherin one on the Universal store website and shipping is $7.95. Wish we had bought one there! But now I have an excuse to return.
We spent quite a bit of time walking around the shops, and went on Flight of the Hippogriff several times. It’s not a bad coaster and I’m glad they have something for younger kids in Hogsmeade.

We had late breakfast at the Three Broomsticks which I would highly recommend. We didn’t get to ride Hogwart’s Express because we only had base tickets, which we got on Undercover Tourist. They were 2 days plus 2 days free, $181 per person including tax. I get all my park tickets there and they are usually less expensive than on the official park websites. Anyway, maybe next time we will get park-to-park tickets. I think next time we will also buy robes and wands and go all out in the Wizarding World, because it is just so fun to be there!
