Indian Rocks Beach has white, sugary sands like most other Gulf coast beaches. However it is much less crowded and the waves are a little bigger.
We have seen a lot of wildlife here including many dolphins, mantas, starfish, ospreys, and various fish. And then there is always the mystery stuff pictured below at top left. Probably washed up brain coral.
There are several free, well-marked beach access parking areas along Gulf Blvd.
There are some great restaurants along Gulf Boulevard in Indian Rocks Beach. We like Keegan’s (featured on the show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives) on 16th Ave & Gulf Blvd. Sandy’s is a great spot for breakfast (23rd Ave & Gulf Blvd) and right next to that is the Cafe de Paris Bakery which is fantastic and authentic.
